It was named after a kid by the name of Fairbotham, a powder man in C Btry, who was killed by mortar fire at Ben Luc when he decided to get some sleep on top of the bunker which was at the far end, opposite the gate, next to a 175 pad.. C Btry may remember my sand bag detail which arose from this. If I caught a man sleeping outside, he got to fill sandbags as punishment. SFC Kjorvestad, the CFB, was very helpful in implementing this policy.
